Logos

There’s a line from one of my favorite TV shows about graphic design. It’s from a character who’s explaining why she’s dropping out of design school and she says: “I don’t like graphic design. It’s just designing logos and stuff.” That bit always makes me laugh because any graphic designer will tell you that designing logos is the best part of being a designer.

Working with a client to discover/uncover their likes and dislikes is a wonderful process. Extrapolating and distilling those needs to a brand that has to fit on something as small as a business card or favicon is equally wonderful. It can be challenging and stressful but it’s, ultimately, what so many designers love to do. So, sorry, Pam from ‘The Office’—I think you’re great but give me logos any day.

word on the street:

“Gayle designed and implemented my website. She also designed my business logo. Her design sense is modern but classic, and always elegant. She is efficient and easy to work with. She listens to clients, and has outstanding communication skills. She is creative and intelligent, and produces quality. I would recommend her for any job or position without hesitation.”
